Applications for entry into a programme are registered when a completed Application form, with the required attachments are received.
Programmes and courses are held subject to a minimum number of enrolments by the closing date. If this number is not reached the course may not proceed. On the other hand, late enrolments will be considered if there are still places available on the course.
General Fees Information Tuition Fees, which do not cover books, stationery, sundries, board or transport, varies from course to course and may change from time to time. Details are available separately for each programme.
Students not resident in New Zealand are required by the New Zealand Immigration Service to pay full fees in advance (into a Trust Fund) as a condition for receiving a Student Permit. Australians do not require a Student Permit to study in New Zealand
Hostel fees paid fully in advance are subject to a considerable discount.
Tuition Fee payments are due on the first day the course commences. All fees must be paid in full by this date unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing with the Taruna Manager. Students who have not paid all fees by the due date may be denied admission to classes and shall not be eligible for awarding of credits until all approved fees are paid.
All funds received from prospective students are held in an independent Trust Fund until the eighth day of the course.
Tuition fees for New Zealanders, and Australians living in New Zealand, are lower than for overseas students due to a Government subsidies paid to Taruna for students resident in New Zealand.

International Students Visas and Permits A Student Visa is an endorsement you get in your passport to allow you to travel to New Zealand. It shows you have permission to travel to New Zealand and may be granted a Student Permit when you arrive. The visa may be single for one journey, or multiple for more than one journey. You will need to apply for a Student Visa if you are outside of New Zealand, and are coming to New Zealand to study full time for longer than three months. Your spouse and children may apply for a Visitor's or a Student Visa.
A Student Permit is an endorsement in your passport, which allows you to study in New Zealand. It will state the expiry date of your permit and the conditions of your permit. The conditions specified may include:
The course of study The educational institution The location of the institution in New Zealand
You may apply for a Student Permit if you are a visitor or a worker in New Zealand and wish to study full time.
Your course of study and educational institution must be approved for foreign students. The educational institute will advise you if the institute and the course are approved (see below). If you have any queries contact the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).
You must show evidence that you are enrolled in the course and have paid the course fees for non-resident students. Please note that the Student Permit is a permit to study and is NOT a work permit. You are expected to bring sufficient funds with you to sustain you for the year without having to work. To work you need a Work Permit.
The Diploma in Rudolf Steiner Education, Art of Health and Certificate in Applied Organics and Biodynamics have been approved by the NZQA for foreign students.
Further details are available from the New Zealand Immigration Service, PO Box 948, Palmerston North, New Zealand phone (64)-6-3591956; fax (64)-6-3569010 or from their web site http://www.immigration.govt.nz/study/.

The Offer of Placement to Foriegn Student is issued by Taruna once the Tuition fees have been received.
International students need to pay course fees in advance, which we place into a Trust Fund (see above). The funds are released to the College when fees become due on the eighth day of the course.
International Students Health Insurance Overseas students studying in New Zealand are NOT covered by the New Zealand government funded Health scheme. Health costs for doctor, general practitioner and specialist, visits; pharmacy/chemist's prescriptions and hospitalisation, etc. will be your own responsibility, so Travel and/or Health Insurance for the duration of your stay in New Zealand is essential. Information on Health Insurance Providers is obtainable from the Taruna College office.
Transferring Funds to New Zealand Part of the process of preparing to come to New Zealand will be getting a Student Visa and a Student Permit from the New Zealand Immigration Service (you can look up their nearest office to you on the internet:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/offices/ - for a list of their offices around the world. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/study/ - for general information about permits and visas.
To get a permit you need to have our receipt for course fees paid in advance - we put them in an escrow Trust Fund for safe keeping. They are refundable if you do not start or if we cancel the course through insufficient enrolments.
However we cannot give you a receipt for the tuition fees until we receive them so the following information will assist timely processing.
We suggest sending Tuition fees with the registration fee – it is cheaper as you only have to pay one transmission fee to the bank.
