Try these delicious warming -non alcoholic - winter drinks for those cold evenings :)
Spiced Tea
6 cups of Water 1 teaspoon whole cloves 1 inch stick cinnamon 2 tablespoons black tea 3/4 cup orange juice 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1/2 cup sugar
Combine water, cloves and cinnamon. Bring to the boil. Add tea; (for children you can exchange tea with apple juice) cover and let brew for 5 minutes, then strain. Heat orange juice, lemon juice and sugar bringing to the boil; stir and add to hot tea. Cool and serve.
Aniseed and Cinnamon Punch
1 litre of Apple Juice 1 stick of cinnamon 2 stars anise 3 cloves Juice of 3 lemons a little lemon rind
Bring the apple juice to boil. Add the cinnamon, anise and cloves and let stand to brew for a five minutes. Add the lemon juice and rind and serve with a little honey.
Barley Water
Take 50 g (2 oz) barley grains in 2 litres of water. Boil for one and a half hours (possibly with a lemon or lemon peel). Add a teaspoonful of honey...cool and enjoy!
This Barley tea is especially good for convalescence.
