Entry Requirements

Applicants for the Diploma in Holistic Healthcare (Anthroposophical Nursing Aotearoa) have to be New Zealand registered nurses, or equivalent, with current Annual Practicing Certificates.
All applicants to Taruna College are required to provide two appropriately qualified confidential references and to make declarations regarding their health and any criminal convictions.

Applicants for whom English is not a first language should have:
• A good standard of written and conversational English in order to properly benefit from this programme. Those applying should provide an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) results card and have achieved a score of 6.5 for speaking and listening with an overall (including reading and writing) band score of not less than 6.0 Academic.

Applicants who meet the entry criteria will be accepted on a first come first served basis.

Applicants are also encouraged to develop familiarity in the underlying principles of anthroposophy. Workshops and study groups are held in most main centres in New Zealand.

Provision for Entry with Credit

Currently the only equivalent training programme worldwide is the foundation nurses courses provided by clinical institutions in Europe. While the programme is based on the European model, there are substantial differences between the programmes that preclude any automatic cross credit arrangement.
Applicants may apply for recognition of prior learning (RPL) on a case-by-case basis. RPL is available for courses of the programme and not parts of courses. RPL candidates must provide evidence that they meet all the learning outcomes for a course in order to be granted RPL. The cost of RPL is $10 per credit. Applicants may apply for RPL for up to one third of the credits of the programme
