Faculty
The Faculty consists of a Faculty Carrying Group and a variety of specialist consultant tutors.
The Faculty Carrying Group consists of certificated tutors and the following members of the International Forum for Anthroposophical Nursing.
The Holistic Healthcare Programme Director is:
Michelle Vette: RN (Comp), Cert Anthroposophical Nursing, Cert CBE, Post Grad Dip Health Studies, Masters candidate:
Michelle coordinates the Holistic Healthcare Nursing along with the Art of Health at Taruna. The opportunity to bring the anthroposophical health perspective alongside current pictures is also part of Michelle’s work life in an anthroposophical nurse led clinic at Weleda. Supporting families and child and women’s health has been a strong focus.
Michelle has enjoyed working in adult education especially responding to the questions that live amongst our communities about ourselves and our relationship to ourselves, each other and health.

Kristina Friedlander, RGON, Cert Anthroposophical Nursing,:
Kristina works as an anthroposophical nurse therapist at Hohepa Home School for children with disabilities and in independent nursing practice. Kristina has worked in anthroposophical medical settings both in New Zealand and overseas both in hospitals and community settings.
Kristina is also an experienced adult educator specialising in bringing a revitalised picture of health to both professionals and care givers.
Kristina is passionate about art, music and travel as well as the mysteries of the plant world.
Deborah Bednarek, Reg.Nurse,Cert. Anthroposophical Nursing, Masters Health Sciences Nursing. Deborah works in a primary health setting providing a holistic nursing service that integrates anthroposophical nursing care and therapies. She has been a coordinator of two anthroposophical therapeutic residential retreats in Hawkes Bay and is currently undertaking research for her Master of Nursing degree.
Particular interests are anthroposophical nursing in New Zealand and its relationship to international colleagues and how to successfully collaborate with all healthcare colleagues to understand and deliver real holistic care in the contemporary context. She is currently coordinator of the Anthroposophical Nurses Association in New Zealand (ANANZ).
Jocelyn Freeman, Reg.Nurse, Cert.Child & Adolescent Health, Cert. Anthroposophical Nursing.
Jocelyn has over 30 years experience in nursing working in general medical practices, and as a school nurse for Taikura Steiner School. Jocelyn was the co-founder of the first anthroposophical nursing training programme in NZ, and also founded and led Taruna’s Art of Health programme.
Jocelyn is passionate about adult education and has completed the Inner Schooling programme.
