Art Intensives at Taruna

This year (2012) a new art course is being launched at Taruna after many requests from students for an opportunity to deepen their artistic experiences and knowledge of the arts out of anthroposophy.

Artist/tutors Maria Melino and Ken Smith are the core carrying tutors and will be joined by specialist guest tutors throughout the year.

These five day workshops will run in 2012, each block focusing upon one art form, giving students the opportunity to fully engage and immerse themselves in artistic work.  Each of the blocks can be taken separately.

The workshops are planned to give students a full, rounded, immersion into the realms of the arts, and the opportunity to experience how the different arts work upon the human constitution- enlivening, balancing, strengthening and tuning the human instrument.

The character of a ‘working studio’ will be created which allows students to enter into the atmosphere of the arts, using a ‘learning through doing’ experiential approach and providing time free from distractions for the work to ‘settle in’ and become digested and integrated.

Students should have an insight and interest in the relationship between the human being and the arts. Ideally out of an Anthroposophical orientation.

Winter Workshop: August 18th – 22nd: Movement
